31 Things You Must do in 2013: #1 RVA Fashion Week (Richmond Magazine)

The open call for models has been made, as well as the call for designers. Watch for April dates and locations for the fifth annual RVA Fashion Week to be revealed at the beginning of 2013. Founded by a group of 20-something volunteers in 2008, this showcase of fashion from Richmond-based designers and boutiques keeps growing. Shows, which often include musical acts, have been held at Rocketts Landing, the Byrd Theatre, CenterStage, Short Pump Town Center and the Hippodrome.

3rd Annual RVA Fashion Week (Richmond Magazine)

The original idea came from Jason Michael Primrose along with Kearsten Feggans in 2009. Together, they embarked on a large-scale project to showcase Richmond’s unique fashion and culture with partners Jimmy Budd and Joey McCullough. RVA Fashion Week branches out to Jewelry Showcase (Commonwealth Times)

The second night of RVA Fashion Week was more than a typical runway show. The Wine Loft hosted “Uncorked,” a jewelry showcase that used models as live mannequins. NYFO Boutique and miLA’s Bridal provided the wardrobe to compliment pieces by Schwarzschild Jewelers, Lo. K’elle Collective and Stitch & Knot.
